Back in the 1960`s, when I was but a wee lad, one of my favorite local regular racers at the Miami Marine Stadium was a woman by the name of Mona Daily. She drove in a now defunct APBA inboard class called F Service runabout, which was near 100 mph in the straights. Yeah, she won a lot too!
Then in the 1970`s there was a woman named Connie Catrell that used to bring her pink, with lace covered deck, Jersey Skiff named "Egg Beater" down to Florida for the winter and infuriate the "macho" guy skiff racers by winning. She also drove a 7 litre hydro too!
In the 1980`s, Anne Fitzgerald was a force to be dealt with in a variety of limited inboard hydros.
Sorry, I don`t have pics of those ladies any more.
