Lol...yah, it was actually pretty fun putting the new bottom on that thing...I was actually on my way to the judges stand to scratch when RIck Hannon and JW Myers grabbed me by the shorts and drug me kicking and screaming back to the boat...Jw said something along the lines..."You are racing this boat in the finals. Go buy us mass quanities of beer and stay the heck away for a few hours" True to form, I bought MORE beer the JW requested, and by the time I got back from town the boat was upside down with 14 people working on it....the beer ended up keeping people somewhat happy.....I think Pat Gleason was the first person to sign the bottom, and it was all downhill from there. I would sure like to get some pics of it...anybody have any? Anyway, the new boat is coming along great. Here are a few more pics.
There were plenty of pictures taken after we put the new bottom on, I just cant find any in my collection. Come on, somebody on here has one.
Not to Hijack Dave's thread but.....does anyone have pics of Corey Peabody's "D" boat that Jon and I rebuilt at Moses Lake?? You know the one...the one that people said we were crazy to try and repair??? Yeah the one that ended up with the moth's that dried in the west system on the deck...Oh yeah and he finished second overall after driving over Kyle's boat just after we fixed it?...
Okay, back to you Dave...

Amateurs! We were only there 3 hours and I got the shots!
As we see in the first shot, said beer. Notice Myers is close to the beer, Hannon's doing the work. [sound of hand smacking forehead] I'm such an idiot; I told Myers I'd pay cash for a new bottom in our boat - no wonder it isn't done yet
And there's Gomer in the back chatting up my wife - what the foxtrot?
Second shot is the art work (sanitized for your protection).

This is so fun...I would love to see more pics of the work done on Cory's boat as well as mine...And some of the qoute's on the bottom of my hydro are not printable here..so maybe it is a good thing that you can't read all of them..lol. And yah, JW was close to the beer, which you can see on the bottom of boat...but I was glad to buy it. I still can't believe I am gonna run that thing at Grass Lake. I just pray to God that I don't dump the thing, because if people walk by and see what is printed on the bottom..well....I think I would be escorted out of the pits with the local police on each elbow. And to think boat has been sitting in my eldery father's garage...if he only knew. Dave
Oh yah Johnson, we are talking about the boat, not me. Yah, I have a few miles on the odometer, but you just watch. I can still beat the yungins....Maybe

Probably true!

Well....for all you hydro racers that are gonna be at Grass Lake....I will take the motor off after elims, turn it upside down, and put the boat on some saw horses so people can see what all was written on the bottom of my boat. I mean...I owe it to all my many fans nation wide right. But....no beer...from what I understand this is a dry park.
Here are day three pics of boat...motor board is attached, all frames aside from 1 and 2 are in place. Will put those in thursday afternoon before I leave for Unlimited race in Pasco. When I come back from nationals I will attach all bottom stringers, then the bottom. I am not putting a tunnel in boat...It sure makes things a lot easier to build.
