  • Canadian or U.S. reg?

Ok, another question from the new guy.

I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but unless I get into jet-boat racing, there are no races for me here in western Canada. Since I will be racing in Wa, and Or, and maybe a couple races in Ont. (if I can swing the holiday time) do I need to reg with both the CPBF, and the APBA, or do they except each others racers?

You only need to register with whichever association you race with. If you race with both, that's two memberships. In rare instances there may be a race that has a receiprocal agreement for membership but in general that is not the case.

I see on the race schedule posted on the APBA web page, that they include some races in Canada, (2 in Ont) would they qualify for the APBA reg?

APBA and CBF memberships are totally reciprocal across all of NA. This has been the case for some 50yrs. The only exception is that to win a National Championship in either county, one must be a member of that nations sanctioning body. Some buy a membership in both[the 2nd is discounted] but it is usually best to buy one in the country you would be racing in most, as one then gets a say in the Regional and National rules.
APBA also gets you a magazine

All three Ontario o/b races this year [2009] are dual sanctioned, The odd one in Reg1, and Reg 2 are also.
This is partly because of insurance issues for the ON races, and also to allow members of either body to score national points in that race.
