  • Composite Repairs

There have been questions asked how do you repair these composite boats?

Well after this past weekend ..... we made the call. We had a CSH Revolution T-bone another CSH after it spun out. Both drivers are ok.

We called Jason and he going to make a few new molded sponson pieces. He said he'll walk us through the repair.

A big thanks to Revolution for the quick response .... we all know they are working hard attempting to keep people happy. Not all in life goes perfectly smooth

Dan, take pictures and document repairs for others to learn. Composites are the wave of the future. I guess we can all learn from your misfortunes. Glad everyone is OK

We will Mike. Revolution shop will layup the small needed pieces over the next 3 days as it doesn't take much time or impact their other projects and send them up for us to repair.

I gather then you will be ready for Nationals? If you get a chance show us the damage before you start the repair.

        Thanks

          Jason is just the GREATEST

I just picked my new boat up from Jason. You would not think a small shop like this could do such a thing, I was a amazed. I have been home two days and going back down next weekend I had so much fun. And learned so much about the people you can trust. Jason is one of a kind. Steve August 22-R QUINAULTRACING

Steve .... I think you will really like the REV CSH. Ours are getting close to be dialed.

                  Thanks Guys,

Looks like the molded parts will be shipped Thursday ..... I didn't expect them that quickly.

So it looks as if Hot Wasabi should be ready to go for Stock Nationals.

                            45ss Nats:Lottsa fixen'

We just got done with the 45SS Nats at Salt Springs an R.J. West is our new champ (post inspection). Congrats R.J. Yeahhh! Fallowing the nats we ran a western series race that started with a booooom! All of the drivers came out untouched (thank you capsules) but, half of the field didn't make it to the first turn. Rescue crew was great, and R.J. showed us all how to get out of a cockpit FAST. Thank yous go to everyone involved with the race and the rescue\cleanup. (Warren and Mr. Burrell especially) Mike Menter cannot be thanked enough for pulling through as our diver :ad hoc. We owe you big Mike.

I will report on the rest after I catch up on sleep.

                              A few questions already .....

                              1. We had revolution make up a bottom and deck piece larger than damage. They also sent e-glass and instructions.
                              2. Removed damaged top and bottom and shaped replacement pieces.
                              3. Glassed bottom piece in first and let layup cure 1 day.
                              4. Glassed top deck into place along with 3M 5200 at outside edge overlap seam.

Everything is good as new! The nose piece will be replaced with lexan.
