can we all just chill a little bit...

I see some comments on here from folks who have not yet stepped up to be a race director. I hope for your sake your first is not a Divisionals, and that you are not subject to public backseat driving. I also hope that you get some hands on assistance on how to do a sanction - most of us got thrown into the deep end and told to swim. One thing you will learn is that the sanction review process is not perfect, even though many times a committee chair or Joanne at the APBA office will catch something.

This is not a big deal. We're racing BOTH days. If the race committee decides it makes more sense based on the number of entries and weather conditions to do something different, that's what will happen. They might be less inclined to to do so if they think they are being called dumb. There has been plenty of p*ssing and moaning about schedule already - too much. So I'm going to help my friend Lee set the schedule for the weekend. Right now I'm inclined to run CSR and CSH in the same flight the same day, but I'll get over it.

Keep in mind that there are a few people (too d*mn few) willing to put races on for you so that you may earn region, divisional or national points. You are our customers and we are here to give you a pleasant racing experience, but there are limits to the amount of whining we are willing to put up with.

    Let's just go boat racing.

Lee and Mike thank you for clearing up the mindset of the race committee on the divisional schedule. I just wanted a explanation. I got one. I know race directing is difficult and challanging. I will be doing my first race directing next year for Mayfield. So I will soon find out myself. Thanks for putting on a race for demanding people. I guess i was just taken by suprise. See you saturday.

Here, here!!! Thanks Lee, Mike, Ken, and the other members of CORA for putting on this Divisionals. It takes a lot of time and effort. Steve may need some of us to assist in inspection Sunday, but as stated earlier...Let's go racing.

The Port of Astoria sells unblended (w/o ethanol). Don't know if they will put it in your fuel can or if it must be in a boat (heard that some marina's will only do it that way). their Phone Number is 503-791-7731. I got a message machine when I called. Astoria is about 10 miles North of Cullaby. See you at the Divisional's.

                  This just in:

Per Mass email from APBA HQ, dated today:

----SO/J Divisionals: Hydro Divisionals Saturday, Runabout divisionals Sunday. If Saturday is blown off, All Divisionals will be on Sunday. If Sunday is blown off, Saturday's results will count as Divisionals.

Thanks Lee, CORA and APBA for making this happen!

Will the digitron be setup Friday afternoon to check fuel. I will be bringing fuel from a local gas pump that has checked out so far this year. But, if they made changes I'd still like to have time to get to Astoria in time to buy some legal fuel

Sean, just a thought, but maybe have one of the Lewis's swing by Des Moines Marina and purchase non-oxygenated fuel than you are good to go? Maybe I'm overstepping my bounds but it is not that far out of the way. Heck, if that doesn't work, I'll drive up and purchase you 10 gallons and you can reimburse me at Cullaby.

                        Just trying to help out

Thanks Jim for the offer. We should be ok. I asked Dan to pick up a 5 gal drum of race fuel that we can mix if it doesn't check out ok. We should be good. I just prefer the pump gas. See you there
