  • Hubbardton, Vermont.......

Overwhelming success for an Inagural event. The "Battle in Hubbardton" saw Drivers from all corners of the Northeast and Canada provide some great competition.

Great job by the Race Committee, Pit managers and Drivers. With unique access to the water it took a great effort by all to pull this one off. Saturdays program ran like clockwork and the Race Committe ran off 22 heats between 12:02 and 3:18 PM on Sunday!

Results to be posted later today.

Thank you to everyone who put on this race. It was a great place, great people, very organized. Terry Morse, Joe Kent, and Roger Ellis deserve a lot of credit, along with all the other people involved. Great job!

Congrats on a really well run race. Having just worked at our own race in Carleton Place
I know how much effort went into this one. Since it was a new venue even more legwork
is required. Vermont has a lot to offer visitors , the scenery is great and everyone from
South Shore was extremely hospitable. I would look forward to coming again next year.
Maybe I will have an engine that actually runs then! I should have brought a Merc.

I enjoyed the race thoroughly. I big thanks go out to Roger Ellis, Terry Morse and Joe Kent for putting forth the leg work prior to the race and the work at the race site to get this race off.
The people on the judges stand also need a big thank you for putting on the most efficient race I have ever been to. This includes, but is not nearely limited to Bill Giles, Steve Noury, Harriet Thompson and Paul Leupold (sp?). This does not include others who volunteered their time.
For those who are considering this site for next year, the course is a very sheltered 3/4 mile course that is great. Any possible problems were put to rest before they could happen because of the great organization.
I'll be back, pending no unforeseen cir***stances happen.

Sorry I had to miss this one being so close to home but I had some major problems with the boat during the race the week before at Carleton Place.I have removed to rear right side decking and found I had 2 broken cross sections that hold the framing, which accounts for all the strange little things that have been going on with the boat since Kingston last year.I'll be down to race with all you New Englanders real soon. get some REAL maple syrup

The Green Mountain boys did a great job. Even the PA system worked and the announcing was great. No traffic problems getting there, Edgewater motel was comfortable and very reasonable. Darn good food over at the "Wheel In" a few miles up the rud in Benson - REAL maple syrup on them flapjacks at NO extra cost.... nice waitress too. Good weekend, well worth the trip.
