Glad to see that there are still a few C Mercs running. McAfee was the only one I could think of and I'm not sure that he is still racing C.
David, Is this motor still avail?

We used the Harry Brinkman five time natioal championship crank, ported it to his last notes, used an old nearly new set of Hubbel four pipe stacks, a stick tower and a 30-H quickie with 16/21 gears. Put about 20 min. on the engine and all went well. Next step is to boat test the engine. Hope you like the photos.

      How did this run/test?

        "C" MOD Engine

Below are a couple photos of the rig my son ran his first race in up at Pineville. Lots of work to be done to get it up to speed. The engine was just starting to loosen up a little and now we need to work on the setup. The hydro was built for Harry Brinkman and was only picked up the weekend before. Going to bring it up to AK for the race on May 9th.

          Slick looking C

Boy that is a good looking boat and motor. Who built the boat. Kind of has lines like a Pugh I own.

I love to see C Mercs.

            "C" MOD boat

I beleive that Steve Roskowski (spelling?) from Indianapolis area built the boat a number of years ago for Harry Brinkman. The boat went unused until last weekend. I have a Ropp that is a mate to it that runs a highly modified merc 44 with four carbs. The photo below was taken last year before we went to Hillsdale in Sept.

              Latest "C" MOD specifications

Anyone have the latest "C" MOD specs available? Can the be down loaded from the APBA website?

Well found the Spec book on the APBA website. Next winter we will build a big carb "C" MOD engine on a Brinkman short tower to see if we can make it run with the current engines.

The answer of can a Merc beat a Yamato is a big YES! James Luce last weekend running the Brinkman/Witham Merc dusted the Yamatos. It wasn't even a race. James had 2-3 mph on the field. This was the quickest CMR I have ever seen.

I hate that I missed you Alan. I was at the opposite end of the lake pitting for the Sumrall's Saturday. Once I found out that you were there I planned on getting down to your pits but you didn't come back Sunday.

                      Pineville

                      Hi David,
I am sorry that we didn't meet at Pineville. I had to do somthing on Sunday and was unable to return. It was planned for a long time. I will be in AK for all three days and hope that you have a chance to get there. Will most likely run three classes there. I will also have a 55-h there and a 44.

What CMH rigs are still avail ta carry a C-Merc/Wizard?......I've kind'a come out'a my annual winter "lack'a sunshine" depression, and sort'a look'n fer a hull for our C-mod stuff.....Gonn'a start with Alan's DMH rig at Franklin with him pilot'n ....but I know it will be crowd'd with his D-MOD stuff ta test...And dats only if he has da funds and time ta drag it North frum Florida dis year.....Charlie Fry has an old CMH B+H rig dat da Fittsgeralds passed on ta him a few years ago but have run it at Ford City and couldn't git it ta fly corners.....He also has a Flyer rig but have not see it yet.

Missed Bob Vann's rig which look'd like a goodie!

Anyone seen Dennis Burke's o'l Runnie Craft 21-Z (early style with rounded cowl) runn'n around with a elec motor on it and is it avail?.....still got a few bucks invested in it......

Scott Clark still got a hull avail Mr Reed?

Just pick'd up a early style Yamato pro foot that loads frum the rear and looks like it will bolt to my 202D tower!!!!!.....and my vertical split gears look like they will interchange !!!????
Any history on these type'a foots and how they hold up?.........I saw a DMH at the Mod Nationals last year with chambers , and they were run'n the vertical split foot........?
Has anyone try'd the spiral cut 302 gears in either of these style foots and any mods needed ta fit?

This engine was in the parts I bought from Harry Brimkman. It was lable #2 "C". The ports have been updated to the latest notes he had and the crank has a full Brinkman bevel job. The pipes are an old set of Hubbles so we will loose a little with them.

                            C MOD Merc

                            Hi Steve,
Were working on getting the C MOD faster. Right now we have been running 1:1 gears which hurts in the turns. We have a 16:21 lower unit we will test this spring. Overall we came in 4th in points in NBRA with the Merc being the only one run in the class. We are now running a Montana Race Craft which has been getting faster as we sort our the setup. We retired the 4 pipe engine and are running a new one with big carbs and reed blocks.
By the way were were running a two blade prop with 1:1 gears.

WOW! Too high! TUCK it under. Try a different prop. Cut the air traps. Move the steering wheel forward.

                                C mod mrc

                                Hi David,
This was late in 2011 before we cut the air traps and put more tuck in the setup. We also moved the fuel tank forward of the steerring wheel in 2012 which helped greatly. This winter we will add an afterplane to the transom and most likely make the bottom into a tunnel.
