Raced our R/C boats before we got Adam into "J" class. We had a gas and the members are good people also. Good luck!

Unfortunately not even a true Champ, Mod U, or F1 hull will reach speeds of 140 on a "closed course". I love these mythical speeds that race announcers always use

Disclaimer: Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch I said "closed course" pin to pin.

Make sure it does what you want before you place your order, Im not sure if this one does speed calculations

                  Well

Tom,What club did you race with?
I was a lone wolf ------ No club.

Raced at some Saginaw Bay R/C Club races and some Chicago 3.5 only tunnel boat invitationals. We tried to get a club going in my area but could never get open water for a race site. Worked on it for two years and gave up. Still enjoy playing with them however when time permits.

Hey Tom, I raced at Saginaw a couple years in the mid 90's. Won every heat the first year, then went back with a much faster boat and really stunk the joint up! Finishing is a big deal in R/C.
Have you got that lower unit sharp and shiny? Lets make sure we bring tunnels to the races we hit this summer. Put on a show for the kids, maybe some of the youngsters too! KampKurz

                      Cool Sites

Login to this one for nitro suff:

                      http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?&act=home

                      This one for gas:

By the way, a world speed record for rc boats was set in 2006 at
140.9 mph (actual)......they use basically the same format as we
do only on a smaller scale......two back to back runs through a
measured 1/16 mile course. Know that it is electronically measured
but not sure of the exact setup. Have heard that record has been
bumped up but can't find anything to do***ent that.

Remember pitting next to you in Celina back in the mid nineties....I had
a couple of Maus tunnels done up in flourescent orange and blue. Kinda
figured it was you that logged in as "Kampkurz"......you shared a lot of
                        stories bout the Top'O parties.

Refresh me! Were you there with a brother? And did you guys have the trailer that you used for 'regular' sized boats? I very much remember Celina. There was a pretty good showing of 'B' tunnels. I ran a stock K&B with an Irwin pipe. I won the first heat of the day, it was called a 6 inch advantage at the finish line by the ref. My heart was just'a pumpin. Good memories.

That was us......two blond long-hairs having fun with little boats. We also
had a short Italian guy with us......Joe. Still have that trailer and using it
mostly for storage now. We are back running some mod stuff....BMR and
CMH.......brother Bob is doing the driving and I just kinda hang out. I have
two WoodStuff tunnels and a couple of Brian Blazers kits but have too busy
with the big stuff to get them going again.

                              Celina!

Ha Ha, I definitely remember you guys and don't mind telling you that that was a lot of fun hangin' with you guys that weekend. Remember how fast Brian Stingers stuff was?
I still have the same tunnel I ran there and hope to get it in the water real soon. I run CSR now, mostly a marathon rig, narrow and long! Cuts way into R/C time, however. I say worth it.
You guys should consider getting a stock engine to come up to Top'O this year with your B Mod boat? We will be running classics as well this year, so there may be a few combo's that you could run. Camp right at KampKurz.
Either way, nice to hear from you. Stay in touch, Mark (Kamp) Kurz
