                We bought Carl's big blue trailer when we started racing in the early 70's. Carl was a great guy and known for those 'blonde' color runabouts. Of course my dad and i had to convert the trailer to carry 5 hydroplanes in lieu of the big runabouts Carl built!!

                  That was Carl alright.
                  His boats were bleached, then stained to get the two tone.
                  Even the numbers,
                  I'd recognize that KG9 anywhere.

                    Also, if you look close, you can see the " birds " on the deck for the steering cable. Another note is the " Sea Jay " on the nose. Carl called his race team
                    Sea Jay racing until it was stolen by the other, fake Sea Jay boat company.

                    I still have one of Carl's boats. It was built for Dave Schmitzer as a 35ssr. We tried to run a 55H on it but what a handful. One day, I'll through my Yamato on it for fun.
