Sid-Craft boats

Not sure where to put this but since this seems to have become a historical thread for 50's/60's racing, decided to post it here. This is a scan of a snap shot that Bob Uryztski, son of Sid Uryztski partner with Mickey Starego of Sid-Craft boats. After Sid-Craft closed the doors, Bob with the help of his father started Sid-Son hydros & tunnels. This picture was taken on March 19, 1956 apparently just after a big snow storm. THis is outside the Sid-Craft factory. Runabouts & hydros were framed upstairs then brought down via a starway iside to the left of the overhead door. On the first level Mickey decked the runabouts & hydros & did all the painting & varnishing. He has a nick name "The Brush". Although I lived in northern NJ at the time, it was so long ago I don't recall the snow storm. The interesting thing about the picture is that this was the 1st year for the "Hornet" and there were 16 runabouts on the trailer & 2 on the pick up. They are 2 abreast, 4 high & 2 rows deep. According to Bob, they were sold & picked up by a dealer in either Nova Scotia. Wow, must have had a good base of customers for race boats unless they also rigged them with pleasure motors of the 50's. Most appear to be "DU" size, but I'm sure that there were some "A-B" size mixed in.
