I picked up a 6HP long shaft from Rocco yesterday at Harbor Island, and in conversation, thougth some may know him from back in the day.
Rocco is not related to Vince, 50 years old, so my age....He raced A stock, and was a member of the Upper Keys Youth Racing Association in Key Largo Fla.In his youth, his engines were built by Jim Toop, he had a short course engine, and a long course engine, as he described it to me. Later Rocco ran OPC in SST140, driving a pre capsule Sebold boat. Names he knew were Elderidge, he said he raced with Marshall's daughter? I ran out of paper writing all this stuff down, we were on the dock.
Rocco used to go like heck sitting still going 50 or so...now he goes like heck but rarely leaves his spot, he is a sail boat rigger and runs many sail boat races.
He had some pretty cool pictures, and I told him lots of us would love to see them Anyone know or remember him, and if so, I got his number and can hook you up if you like.
He is going to come to the Puddingstone Innagural Race at Pomona later this month.
