    nails vs screws?

I like it. Go for it. A chip board pattern is certainly easy to construct and relatively cheap.

BTW if you haven't decided yet on the fasteners I have used 1" - 14gauge 316 stainless steel nails for all the 1/4" or 6mm plywood planking except the deck. For the 1/8" or 3 mm deck I use 3/4" -15gauge nails. If the stainless not available silicon bronze can be used. Stay away from galvanized fasteners.

Hi Pete, how come you didn't use fh brass screws instead of the nails, like #6 or #8 for the decking? Michael B.

Takes too long. anchor nails hold great, easier to drive the nail then all the pre drill and countersink required for the screw and I prefer the cleaner look of the nails if left flush with the plywood or countersunk and filled over with wood dough (flamowood) or filled with thickened epoxy.

One edit on the nail size. I said I used 1"-14 gauge anchor nails on the 1/4" or 6mm plywood, make that 3/4" long - 14 gauge.

BTW I found the Scat Cat plans on the internet so I can now look at them to better recall the construction.
