  • Gary Pugh needs a little composite work.

Hey all, just thought I'd let you know that Gary had a little motorcycle spill monday afternoon. He was riding his KTM 250 with a group of friends in the mountains when it looks has if the throttle stuck in a more or less "WFO" position. Gary left the trail, attempted to knock down an old growth tree and broke his left femur close to the hip.

The Doc says the surgery went as expected and he should be going home this weekend. If you've benn trying to call and got no answer, well thats why. Anyone wanting to send a card, the address is 3717 Schaad Rd. Knoxville, TN. 37921.

    thanks,
    Eric

Tell Gary not to feel like the Lone Ranger!

I hope that Gary is healing quickly. He's not alone. I'm sitting here with a left knee about the size of a soccer ball. Nothing broken but almost everything hurts. I have a CR250R and it got away from me this afternoon..........

                    Gary
Now you know that you should stick to running boats, they are not nearly as dangerous as motorcycles, I know, I used to ride motorcycles and all they did was break bones. Get well soon, you are in our prayers.

I thought I would update some. I've been over to see Gary several times since he came home. I think he's getting adjusted to the casual life, learning to use the walker and now crutches. We mostly talk about motorcycles, boats and slot cars.

His computer is down stairs, so his access has been, well, not possible, but soon he may be able to answer emails, post on forums and buy more slot cars.

Speaking of slot cars, Ron "the good Sax" Saxvik sent me a pic of brother Bobs basement track, AWESOME is the only word that describes it....oh, and Bob has half of a boat nailed to the wall.

I'll post again soon with more info.

Get Well Quickly! Miss WIndy's waiting

                        Hey Eric,
Jerry and I were sorry to hear about Gary's accident and injury. Sure hope it heals up well for him. We were ready to bring Miss Windy to the shop, but the time off has allowed me to finish the Stevens SK and work on the Molinari and Johnson RS. I'd been putting that off trying to get the big hydro ready for the summer. We'll be waiting on the new motor any way. Tell Gary I'd love to come by the shop and help him when he's up to it. Jerry mentioned he would too. Might just convince me to re-deck the Molinari ??!!??

What brand/year does Gary collect? I'm stuck in the 1976 - 1979 era of Tyco with Curvehugger HP-2's. I'll have to take some pics of my "little" collection.

Also, I know what Gary is going through with the leg. This little deal happened 3/18/06 and it took two full years to get it healed. Mine was mid-shaft though, not at the hip. Did they do a hip replacement on Gary?

Now, I race boats because driving on the road with women is just too dangerous!!!!
