We have the trailer and 4 engines loaded, Can't wait to see the Georgenator Merc perform in combat......

brand new trailer sides, repaired fender, with a motor rack...No more motors on the floor!...New elevating boat racks that crank up and down. Paint on the outside is next....

I tig welded a brand new aludimen fuel tank which serves as a number plate so the judges can read properly, Black 1.5" wide x 12" tall numbers on a pearl white HOK back ground. I read it with plain eyes at 1360 feet....

Food arsenal includes 50 lbs of brats, 20 are white smoked veal, 10 lbs of garlic sausage, 5 lbs of cheddar cheese and elk sausage, 5 lbs of beer brats, 10 lbs of knock wurst. 10 lbs of onions, 2 lbs of butter, 40 lbs of large pre baked taters.

Hand made buns from my buddy the pizza chef.

Also have 15 racks of ribs, pre cooked, maranading in my world famous internationally renowned Bubba Q sauce, personally served at the White house at the inaguration. (My neighbors name is White lol)

4 cases of Fat tire Beer...

If the waters rough, we will eat! 5 lbs of brats to every team that pulls more than 400 miles from their home to the race course.

We will be leaving at 9:30 sharp, left coast time, should be in Havasu City to hear the ghost of Jerry Wallin driving Starfight 4 about 3PM.

Who will we have the pleasure of making their acquaintance at this race?

        Mike:

Where are you staying?> We will be at Hampton Inn, Lake Havasu City....had to sweet talk mama, KT left school early after a test with a bad throat....She rested up and should be fine, but, always drama!

I hope weather holds out, the report says we will be experiencing global wetting, unheard of in dessert climates!

I still gotta figure out how to get to HaVAsu Landing from Havasu city.. I did not get a ferry schedule.... Oh well, coolers all packed. Just got to get a boat tie down and ice.

KT is bringing a friend of hers who will be running AXS soon. I have her motor in the garage....

Well, it was great! Good water both days, temps were starting at 40, then headed to 60 by noon. great race site, lots of trees, even though we really did not need them this time of year. Lake Havasu City, always has night life. Ride the $3 ferry across the lake, get off at London Bridge, town is right there. Saturday nite they showed American Grafitti in an out door theatre along with 1500 of the best street rods and classic cars ever seen.

Blue Grass fest starts this weekend.

Far as racing goes, and the Georgenator Merc. KT won the first heat, was duking it out with Kevin Curtis around turn 4 to the start finish, then I heard her engine rev just a bump higher and she started walking by. Took the heat from the outside lane by about 1/2 of a boat, Kevin second, Marlee Hill 3rd.

Second heat comes out, and does a did not know better so she tried to tell us thing...With 15 seconds on the clock, she realized she was early, then looped around from the chute...did not enter the turn, just looped behind all the boats....DQ.

She ran well in A, but those runs were more to get time on the motor.

Everyone on the shore was coming up to us saying what a little rocket the boat was. She probably could have won that AXS heat if she did not screw up.

Sunday comes. She drove a heat of A, and, the far turn got a barge wake in the middle of the race. The front 3 boats were only a couple lengths ahead of her and started walking on the sponsons...When Kt went through she hit the wave with the outside of her boat, and we all thought she was getting wet. The boat went nearly 90° to the water, she threw her weight over the high side, the boat dropped down, then hooked about 45°. Chad Hill thought
that was it, but nope, she straightened out, but the event caused her kill switch to yank loose, so there she sat in the middle the the entire field rounding her. Marlee Hill moved up to 4th i thought, and KT put her head down for a second on the steering wheel and I knew she was upset. The heat ended, they pulled her in, and she went right back out there.

That race, even though she did not finish, was a growth experience.. Everyone and I mean everyone told her how well they though she handled the boat.

Now AXS comes to the water. She drove a perfect race, with a perfect start. She increased her lead over the field to 5 boat lengths. Guessing, she had 2-3 MPH over the second place boat. Then the second time goof. She took the checkered flag. All boats had taken the checkered flag from where we were, but, instead of rounding the last turn, she just cut the course and drove to the dolly....DQ.....Kevin Curtis moved to 1st, Marlee 2nd, Amanda Rich 3rd.

Last heat she got a terrible start, we were wondering why she was hanging on so long...Marlee Hill gunned it from way behind and crossed the line full throttle, and lead the whole race.

So, for the weekend in AXS, it was Kevin Curtis 1st, Amanda Rich 2nd, Marlee Hill and Kt tied for third.

Now the fun stuff. When we arrived Friday night, Ron Hill hands me his phone. It was Don Henrich, OMC propeller guru, perhaps the master of all masters. Don lives in Havasu City, 81 years old, and took the ferry across to see the races Saturday. I introduced him to KT, he looked at our props....That was so fun!

We had high powered squirt gun boats, 45's, SST 120's, most all stock classes.

I'm sore as hell, recouping, and since the battery in the camera went dead, very few photos!

Oh yeah, Dan Schwartz and Dean Hobart, you got some brats coming.

KT Schwab, with this spelling. There is a Schaub somewhere, and that ain't us to avoid the confusion!

                  Thanks for posting, Mike
