In the early 1950s my dad raced class A hydros in the Seattle area (ie Greenlake). Dad and mom are both long gone, but I have a few photos, a couple trophies, newspaper articles and the prop from dad's boat. I would like to know more. I know that dad's boat was built my Fillinger but would like to know more about the boat and motor of that time...what are the boat specs of length, beam etc and what motors were they running back then. I will try to track down more photos from my sisters if they have any or do better close up scans of what I have. Dad never talked much about boat racing because he gave it up after I was born...kids were not cheap then, nor now. My kids are grown and I would like to learn more about what interested my dad back in the day. Thanks for any help... Casey

The A motor of that era was the Johnson KR built in the 1930's.
It was one of the few inline motors of that era, as most motors were opposed with both cylinder firing at the same time. The inline motor fired they cylinders 180 degrees apart ... know as "alternate firing"
I can dig up more photos of the motors and detailed specs
Exact details of the boats is a lot harder to pin down
