One of the most fun races I've been to was an EORC race at Flanders some years back. The Grand Prix Marathon - 12 laps total with a pit stop/refuel and driver change was a blast, I was teamed with Don Rusnak, he drove the first set and I drove the second. Does EORC still run that Diane? See you next week at the Worlds.

      Eorc

Sure miss those days running with EORC. We had good turn outs and had enjoyable times. I blame my joint pains to those days and the rough water LOL. Still keep in touch with a couple of the guys still running.

        Old Timers from EORC

        Hi Al,
Yes the EORC club races were always fun. We did get our share of the rough water but that always made it intresting. I can still remember my first EORC/APBA race in 1956 that was held at Great River in the South Bay. That was like running in the ocean! I still have most of the A/B engines I ran back then but now have a few more. As you know were still building the Speedliners which were a great rough water boat. David and I have also started selling complete engines and packages with boats set ready to run. You can see some of the things were into at our website aeroliner-boats.com.
I will be going to Mark Sutters again this year and this time I will bring an engine or two.

Hi Alan- Won't be able to attend Mark's meet this year. Still not recovered enough to take a trip that long.
My friend, Tim Kurcz, will be there with his project 444, a modified FE Merc that showed itself proudly at Hillsdale,MI last month. Cleaned house. He said it will hold it's own on a fairly short course, but, the OMCs will out run it on a long course. He and the late Bud Parker worked up many ideas. Sure would like to be able to attend and see all the guys again.
I don't remember the year, but at Mastic we ran a APBA race in real nasty water. I walked away in CU with my CU Sea Jay and because some up state guys were running for national hi points in CSH with only one of our guys willing to run, Dave Young talked me into running his Wetback. Won first heat by half a lap and was over half a lap in the lead when I stuffed it. Those were the good old days.
          Enjoy.
