I thought I heard that the J Commission was considering having all the girls start from the beach, but only after all the boys crossed the start line, or maybe it was the other way round. I don't hear that good any more. ,
but I do recall some one said don't joke on this board.

Throttle Linkage!!!!

We need to get the Dave Scott Merc throttle linkage passed for both the J/AX and stock Merc A classes.

This makes engine changes from OMC's to Merc 5-10 mins quicker. There IS NO SAFETY ISSUE HERE as the J committee seems to thinks with throttle cables crossing the transom.

This same throttle design is available in the 25 class. I have seen some pretty Funky throttle cable configurations in both Mod and Stocks which I would consider a safety consideration of being a leg trap upon driver exit.

This is a proven design with no safety aspects!!

Add it to the list of for the J and SORC to accept!!

Even if this were to happen I still think Val Wendy and Abby would kick butt. Those ladies are just plain old fast and both can drive through traffic. We may have to issue a one lap handicap.

Something needs to be done about the OMC motor! In a class for kids, we have standard props for PARITY, but the Merc is the dominate motor. Everyone always talks about building the sport and keeping costs down, especially for beginners. With 10 times as many OMC's out there at a less expensive price it makes no sence to have a class that kids' need a different motor in J and AX than A Stock!!!! So Bring a Kid into our sport, then tell their parents when they want to run A stock your Merc won't get it done.
It is an easy FIX just open the J and AX restrictor up. Give the kids' PARITY, like it should be.

Harry very well said. However your ideas are falling on deaf ears. I heard rumor it will be legal to add turbochargers to the merc 15's in the junior classes in 2009! Something about helping them get on plane easier.

1 - J Category does not get into the Hall of Champions.

2 - Parents of J Drivers cannot be on the J Committee.
