Yup, Just a bit down the road from Kitty Hawk! Time to wax the boats for a salty dunk! Shallowbag Bay is the body of water.

Our Club "Carolina Cup Regatta Inc." will be assisting Manteo in setting up/conducting this race. APBA Stock, Mod & Pro Hydro/Runabout, J Stock with the possibility of Vintage.

Due to being a September Race, it could very well be a deciding points race for the standings, something to keep in mind.

Race CANCELLATION

Delaware Lake State Park, Ohio, 15-17 May CANCELLED. Unfortunately the Division of Watercraft believed that racing on that date (just 1 week before Memorial Day weekend) would be too disruptive to recreational boaters on the lake. They have kept our Special Event request and changed the race date to 2010. Next year this race will fall on the same dates but it will be 2 weeks before Memorial Day and better for them and the park. This is a disappointment but trying to get new racing venues is always frustrating. Ohio is centrally located to most midwest racers but 95% of the water is in State Parks. We must compete with public users of these places and getting Summer race dates is nearly impossible. This lake has great potential for future races in May or September. Mike Marshall, Raceboat 61-S

This is just a reminder that the weekend of the Waterford, Ontario race, May 30-31 is the LAST weekend you will be able to cross the USA-Canada border without a Passport or one of the special ID's. No longer will a birth certificate, drivers license, etc... work. June 1 the new regulations take effect for land travel.

I know many of you have a passport now... but for those who dont and may not plan on getting one... Come on up, have a good time, enjoy this part of Canada while you can without needing special ID.

If that's the case in the USA... anyone who is thinking of coming to the tentative Dunnville race in late August 22-23 better get things moving

Waterford is a tenative must do for "NEVER READY RACE"N".....

On 6 June 09 the ECDBA is having a High Speed Shootout in conjunction with our race weekend. There are 2 classes: Hydros/tunnels and V-bottoms. It is at Wildwood Park in Appling, GA on Clark Hill Lake. Anyone interested in coming and running can get a hold of me for details.

NBRA Nationals

I know it is early but I have booked the room block for the Long Course Nationals in Centralia, IL. Please call the America's Best/Bell Tower Inn 618-533-1300 and ask for the NBRA boat racers block, 49.95 plus tax. I have blocked as many as they will allow for now and when they see that they are selling out they will give us more. Please make you reservations early. I will be getting out information on a race schedule soon but we will have testing on Thursday August the 6th, Friday the 7th with eliminations ( if required) in the afternoon and racing on the 8th and 9th.
