Does anyone have a date for this event yet? It is going to be in Louisiana correct? We are trying to place races in Region 5 for the spring to not conflict with this event. Thanks!!

Winternationals

Many of you have been asking and I know that it's about time to start making vacation plans. So, it's 99% firm that the 2009 Stock and Mod Winternationals in Pineville, LA will be held on March 20-22, 2009. This is one week later than last time and we have chosen that date to try to allow for some warmer weather. More info to follow. Ed Hearn.

Why couldn't you do it a month later in April, it's cold and windy in March? One week probably won't make any difference.

Bob---- I agree.... I thought it was supposed to be in the middle April. Weather will much better at that time. It was unusually cold in 2005, but chances are much better for great weather in April.

April sounds much better as Rick as pointed out. Morning temps last time we were there in March 05 were in the 30's and afternoon highs were in the 50's Oh, and the winds were about 20mph!

June would be even better. I almost froze to death last time! I got cold Friday and didn't get warm again until about Tuesday.

Personally, knowing how the weather is in Louisiana, I'd rather move the dates back up a week and have the race in the same time frame as last time. It was unusually cold for March in Louisiana during the Winter Nationals in 2005.

The AOF used to run the Southern Championships at Alex in mid April. It was usually cool and breezy. The spring race finally ended up being moved back to Memorial Day weekend.

This year was unusually windy all spring. The wind started blowing at the end of February and didn't slack up until the end of May. Messed up my fishing big time!

Move to April

I think it was approved at the Nat Meeting to allow the Winternationals a 30 day extension so they could be put on a month later in April.

Hey Bob, If they move the date to April then we can have a early March Jesup. Maybe if we do that it will snow this time in south Georgia.

I still remember frost on the boats Sunday morning from the mod winter nationals. I thought I was back in Wisconsin!
