San Diego was awesome! First time down there and it was a blast! I have video of the 45's on Sunday. I'll post it as soon as i can!

Thats was crazy!!! glad hes OK, well 'minor injuries' is a lot better then it could have been.

That wreck

happened about 10:30 Friday morning. Frrom Fiesta Ilsand, fdirectly across the bay from the drag course, was the crackling of nitro. I could almost smell and taste it like a home made brat coming off the grille..... Then, the green light, a tremendous roar, the engine revved up and the boat just hit second gear when his throttle started fluttering like when salt water gets sucked in...Next thing you know he was sideways. From Fiesta Island, there is an aircraft control tower on an island in the middle of mission bay which blocked the whole accident, but we could hear the engine blipping off and on, then silence....The spray rose higher than the control tower....Rescue on it immediately, they popped his capsule and he emerged to the rescue boats.

Bryon Metcalf, a mountain motored gas flat bottom driver called me about then, and said the driver was OK. Good thing too, 3 years ago a dragger wrecked and sued the rescue and club volunteers....
