Well Saturday is over with Sunday to go yet. Great weather in the mid 70's with lite winds. 139 entries and some great racing. Took some pics when I had time and they are below. Don't ask me results as I was up to my neck trying to keep Adam going in his three classes he raced in. We did find out in the marathon why it's called "Grass Lake" however.

For all of you who know Tom Smith, today he found out what it is really like to be a Dad of a J Driver. Mom, Wendy McCortie was also here to cheer as Colin Smith raced his first race today. Much cheering was heard from family and friends encouraging him. Way to go Colin, we think your great!

Its Raining At Grass Lake
Well, opened the door to the hotel,,, thank goodness it is not the tent door today, and we find it has been raining for a while. Nice steady soaker rain. According to weather it is supposed to clear by 100pm. Drivers meeting is at 10am today.
ASR's are racing for the John Loomer award, which includes a Bulova watch and nice trophy. For those who do not remember last year, John came back to racing after many years off. He raced his first heat of ASR last year and came to shore not feeling well. Unfortunately for all John passed that day surrounded by his boat racing family, after many attempts to help him. His family donated his complete rig and safety equipment to MHRA to use to attract new drivers to ouir sport. John is missed by all who are here at Grass Lake.

Sunday Pics
Great day after the rain left at the begining of the drivers meeting. Lots of good racing. One accident in C hydro. Both drivers OK. Thanks MHRA for a great two days of racing.Tom L.

Great race at Grass Lake. Our first time back in a very long time. Thank you to the race community for putting JR in the first set on Sunday so Dylan could get his 15th race in. It was a long ride but well worth it. I think we are done but one never knows. Thanks to everyone this year for all your support, and kind words to Dylan and to all his competitors who are top notch competitors and that is what makes our sport so special. It has been quite a year. Have a wonderfull winter and hopefully we will see some of you at Millville, Oct. 4 & 5. SheriSPORTMANSHIP expresses an aspiration that the activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors.

For those of you who missed it ... we have another future J Driver getting ready to gear up for some testing in 2009.
Our son Nik, who just turned 8 yrs old on Saturday, took delivery of his first J Hydro at Grass Lake on Sunday. Thank you to the Lauer family! Nik loves his new boat. He was a little shy having a small audience standing around when we first introduced him to it, however he spent a lot of time sitting inside of it - as it was tucked inside the trailer.
Nik will be taking over Grandpa Miskerik's "5M". As you may already know... Grandpa is VERY proud! It's hard to believe we have a third generation Miskerik stepping up to the boat soon.
Sounds like the Hearn and Chew Families need to step it up to get Tori and Grant their new rides pretty soon!
Also, Congratulations and Happy Birthday to Colin Smith! I know your Dad and Mom had to have been so proud to watch you during your 1st race!!

Sunday Pics of Grass Lake
Mrs. Loomer ( John's wife) was in the pits on Sunday and briefly stopped and thanked everyone who has been so helpful to her in the last year. Here is a pic of her and Dean discussing the days events. I did not see the last ASR race on Sunday, so I am unable to post who received the watch. Last announcement was Terry Kerr was leading.Attached Files
