  • Sidewinder at Oshkosh

Sad to say BSH did not run at Oshkosh this year. But I did run the Sidewinder in BSR on Sunday. I need to give Davey Hemp a big THANKS for loaning me a boat to run. The 28mm carb has been installed and I felt the motor pulled better in the midrange. I managed to get decent starts but it was the end of the second heat before I was comfortable enough to push it much in the corners. From my perspective the other boats in the race did not pull me much on the straights. Over all I was very happy with the way the motor ran considering I was running to much propeller for the course.
Can't wait for Pleasant Prairie to see how it works on a bigger course.

    Gene,
Have you gotten to run the motor much since Whitney Point? We had a good test session at Lock Haven on Friday. I'll try to post some info later. Good Luck @ Pleasant Prairie.

This was the first time running the motor after whitney Dudley. I gave Ed the power head at Whitney and had just goten it back. I have to say the 28m card was an improvement! Ed went through the powerhead and checked its condition. everything is in very good shape, bearings holding up good ect. He did replace the top rings just because he had it open.

        Gene,
Glad to hear the new carb helped out. There are several things we're trying that have made an improvement on my motor. We're trying to further refine them, so there are probably some changes that will be coming soon. Hopefully I'll get another test session in the next few weeks. I saw speeds better than Whitney Pt. @ Lock Haven.

        Have a great day.
