  • Grass Lake Roll Call

Well folks here is your chance to test for next years Stock Outboard Nationals. This race site will have a nationals coarse set up this year so we can see how it works. There is a new race headquarters. Apple Creek Camp Ground that is just down the street from that famous Grass Shack. It's a quarter mile from town or Vic Brinkmans shop on the lake. Awards dinner and music will be Saturday night at the campground's party room. Most everyone I have talked to plans to camp out there( thats were the party is!!!!). They allow us drink YAAAAAAAA without the hassle of the police or park ranger. The owner of this campground is a major sponcer for next years nationals and her family races snowmobiles so she is used to gear heads telling stories about how fast they were. Friday- Annual Wild Ones Golf Scramble 12:00 noon Trailers and people arrive, Testing in the past has been at your own risk. We will be setting the coarse Friday so we may have some suppervision on the water. Friday night we take over the Grass Shack. Past and present racers are there and it is standing room only. Saturday we will start racing promtly so we can get the awards party and dinner started early. That way the old farts can get to bed early. The younger crowd is invited to party Rick Bird style at ED Hearns motor home and campsite. We are thinking about getting Freddie Miller tapes with his This is God line on the PA to motivate you in the mornings. This will be a premier event and if your looking to end the season with a bang don't miss it. Remember there is a marathon both days. SLT tunnels are also going to provide some excitement this year. Owe Ya!!! Brian Lauers cooler always has a lot of beer in it if your thirsty( thanks Josh). SEE YA THERE!!!!!!!!! Mikey

          C57M marathon!

I plan to com and run CSR in marathon. I'm stoked. Top'O has my juices flowing and I'm hoping to show some improvement if the water should get rough. If it doesn't get rough, don't close the bar before I finish!

HOT OFF THE PRESS!!!!!!! Divisional Points for those marathon guys. If your looking for a high point championship this is race you can't miss. Deno is putting on his Racer School on Friday. This event happened due to a tragic death at this site. The boat, motor, and all the things necessary to take a stock ASR for a ride were donated to our club. Deno took the bull by the horns, and is getting people hooked GREAT JOB!!!! The Grass Shack will be shaking Friday night don,t miss it. Mikey

                  C57M lookin' for a trailer!

I'm coming regardless, Mikey has made it sound just to good to miss! I was just wondering if any Top'O' area racers might have a spot on a trailer for a CSR marathon boat! If not, I'll be packing the axle bearings on the ol' local-use trailer tomorrow after work and loading up. So, with that in mind, if you are from the top' O' the Mitt and heading to Grass Lake. Please get ahold of KampKurz @ 231-420-0774.
Also, where can I get driving instructions to Grass Lake?
Did I hear right? Is camping available close to the pits?
Can't wait to see the folks I know and to meet some new faces.

Uhhhh.... WRONG!. Eddie has had enough of the younger guys having beer for breakfast outside of his motorhome. Sunday at Nationals was enough. Eddie is not part of the younger crowd and needs his sleep! I'm bringing Murphy to ward off the offenders!

Erik and I will be there with 1 ASR, 1 BSH and 2 BSRs. Eddie.
