  • Dayton Results

I will post all of the results as soon as I receive them from Vicki Sidor. But I wanted to again thank all of those who are essential to putting this race on. We get a lot of help at this race from a lot of people and could not put the race on without each and every one of those volunteers. Because this race runs on such a tight budget, the club cannot even afford to reimburse expenses for this race. These volunteers give both their time and resources to help make this event possible. I cannot list every person here. I tried to name some of them on Saturday night but that list only includes part of the most obvious of these people. We also get a lot of help from many who do very important tasks that go unseen and unknown to all but that person and me. Some of them even helped but could not attend the event. I know who all of you are and how you contribute and I thank each and every one of you!

I would like for all of you to know that, due to your efforts, Dayton Record Runs Association, Inc. made a cash donation of $180.00 from the gate proceeds to the Children's Medical Center of Dayton, Ohio, following this event. Bobby Laws personally delivered the funds and the staff at the Medical Center was "ecstatic" to receive the donation. It is not a lot, but every little bit helps treat children in Montgomery County, Ohio and the surrounding areas regardless of their ability to pay. The Medical Center is physically located right across Highway 4 from the Hydrobowl. Here is the link for the Center's website: http://www.childrensdayton.org Congratulations to all of you and all of the racers for making this donation possible.

I also want to thank Grant Hearn and Tori Chew for their help too and to congratulate them in continuing the Hearn tradition of competing in their first boat race at the Dayton Hydrobowl. Every Hearn who has raced a boat has started at Dayton since the patriarchs, Steve and Jim, began the racing team.

I again want to congratulate Dylan Runne on his spectacular record runs in J Hydro and J Runabout. Dylan also received the Joann Ellis Fast Lap Award for these record runs. Joel Kiddy received the Harry O'Brien High Point Award for amassing 1725 points over the weekend. Congrats to you both!

We'll be back next year with our annual record run event on August 29th and 30th. Thanks again to all of you who attended.
