Ok... I saw the video. Get yer butt in the back and remove the whale tail.
That's my advice...
You're on a curved bottom boat and too much weight up front... Get the whaletail off the cavitation plate because it's working against the boat to much in the video.
going to cut it down some but that is the only way to get on step other than holding on to a ski rope till it breaks over hence the name. before i put that on it it would take 2 miles and 1.5 gals of gas and still not be on step at lease now i can run without support boat pulling me on step. would short and wide on the cavation plate be better?
You already tried set ups, so now do some hull work. My guess is weight distribution is the culprit of some of the bouncing. Lack of power would be the next. The Jet drive had a different power curve and those hulls were designed for that power band.
Whatever you do, have some fun with it, looks like something we thought of trying one time a while back.
i've been called NUTS, PYSCO, AND CRAZY i didn't relize yall love me so much boy i miss all that talk at the races, i was the one flying a hyro down the back straight away, turn fin 4 or 5 inches off the water, thats the same thing i here back then. thanks for all the encoragement yall i love that about racers. going to start making the pad wider soon going from 6" to 11" or 12" when finshed will keep yall updated, if anyone wants to try this i would suggest a three seater 8' a bit small, not a lot of freeboard to begin with. yea there is a filler block with a pipe to move water from the bottom of the exhoust into the area around the clyinders.

Yup thats nuts! but cool, real cool. Gotta appreciate all the work put into that just for the fun of it.
Just a few pics from along the way started cutting out extra glass and foam thats inside the hull. The the man that made the filler block is a machinist and used a 1" block of alluminum he is also who i got the engine from, his user name is sixcylrunabout
