I have a Merc300 ser#1327614, is it worth anything? Isn't the serial number too high for good ports? Someone painted it black and it's in average condition.

A Merc 300 is a 40 ci block. It will say THUNDERBOLT on the fuel pump side vs TURBO FOUR for a 30 ci motor.

Steve, you are confusing the actions of the Stock membership vs Mod. To my knowledge there has not been the same kind of voting out of a motor in Mod.

Just my natural state these days........

I also have a 300...It has the kb 2 carbs 7/8" smooth bore.....that look like a mini-kc with no idle curcuit bump that may be of value to the C-MERCS/WIZARDS..and any Kg-4/7 or Mark-25 "Lake-Racers".....I ran one at Akron on my KG-A/MOD in second place out'a 5 entries for 2 laps till points went south......they have a fixed jet that can be replaced with a ka-7 or kc-16 style adjustable needle/seat......Was gonn'a go back to aj-47 next day to see if any dif , but 95-degree temp made wrench'n on mag verse watch'n races a no-brainer.....especially with SAX anouce'n!!!!

The pistons should be the no-dimple 20H/55H style that can bring a decent return on E-Bay....whole powerhead may have value to AOF 40 cube MOD folks.....?

Well time to load test trailer and Lumina and head out to Whitney ....Hope I can fin a spot to bunk down.....not gonn'a feed the motor home for just me......
