Leftcoast Summer Tour 2008

Talked to Dave Andersen a couple of hours ago, and they (Dave and Rick Hannon for sure, and the Kyle & Kyle show too I think, there was lots of noise) were standing on the side of the hiway waiting for the rental company to bring them a new ride. Lost the tranny on the way the to the Pocono race. Should be on their way by now. Good luck to all the Left coasters back there, and everyone be safe.

Too bad that they will be late for the Pocono show but man that will be a memory they will never forget! Glad they are having fun! Hope all have a great time this week!

Getting Close

Just talked to Rick and they are getting real close. Just looking out at lots of GREEN bushes and trees instead of the brown and brushfires back home. 40 miles or so left to go. Leftcoast is almost in the house. Dick Papa is still in the truck, so Rick hasn't made anyone walk yet, although he said Tony is pretty close. Wish I was there!

Top O' Here we come

The next phase of the left coast summer tour is about to began. Karl Bishop, (CSR,) Darrell Sorensen (CSR )& Bob Williams (DSR). Are headed to Indian River Michigan. We hear there is a possibility that Tony Lombardo (ASR) and Jeff Condit (CSR) may join us also.

We won't be waiting around for the water to get smooth, we will be racing no mater what!

Update - Friday PM

Rick and Mama Bird are having a great time - saw them at dinner last night.

Tony has had an interesting time racing this week - blew over in one heat earlier this week, two DNS's in 850ccr.

Donnie Morris fininshed second to Luce in 850ccr

Four R10 kids in JR final - Salmon, 2 Ruckers, and Korpe. Middle of the pack finishes.

CSH final will feature Bahl and Perman. Peeters got tossed on a lane violation and Goehring went on his head (OK).

20ss has Perman and Peeters.

DSH final has Bahl, Anderson, Peeters (can't remeber if Daren got in. Kyle has to borrow J-Dub's tower, and a cast of thousands put a new bottom on Dave's boat (with the appropriate level of abuse - love ya Dave!).

ASR didn't even hit the water until 7am this morning. Each day has basically been a 7am to 7pm trudge. I feel for the race committee and the weather they have had to deal with. They may get done today if the weather holds, though I would wager that there could still be racing Sunday if the weather stays snotty.

Johnson Racing is on it's way to Cooperstown now. We'll be back in Portland and should have pics up Sunday afternoon Left Coast time.

This is Sara Powell taliking to Brid on the drive back from Mn. w/broken ankle...blk and blue from head to toe...got a parking ticket at Broks house " he must not have liked the CA plates nor the sign, must have been a nacar fan" he wants to thank everybody from the race commitue,racers, families for the warm welcome and support throu out the week and a special thanks to the b stock runabout drivers for allowing the west coast boy to drive w/ the big dogs! sorry i scared the beach and my wife and the left coast family and friends but know im free bird and u cant bring me down. got any pic send them his way. he had a great time...thank to all that helped his wife when he was being worked on. thanks Dience for wanting me to go to the hosptial first. After all said and done... know we will be back and the blk cloud not w/ us. wish us luck on the drive back..see u soon in calif.

sorry to hear about your ticket. We hope the broken ankle heals well and soon. We never got the opportunity to thank Garland for diving off the pier at Salt Springs and putting out the fire on KT's engine, so, here it is. Sorry to sidetrack the thread, and have a safe trip back to the land of fruits and crazies.

Nearing Sturgis

At about 10:30pm last night they were nearing Sturgis. Although the boys were sadly dissapointed to find out they were a few days late.
Rick says the ankle is throbbing pretty bad, but they will keep rolling. Maureen was delayed on her flight from Boston and Ricks Mom was waiting a few hours at the airport, but thinks she made it home fine.

Almost to Idaho, should be unloading boats near Seattle about 6pm Leftcoast time. Ashley is pulling a Ryan Runne summer, guess she is heading to California for a week to spend time with the Lombardo's
