  • Top O - Camping?

    Hey everyone -
I'm looking to camp for the weekend of Top O and just wondered if there was a known spot that most people camp at?

I'll be staying Friday through Sunday nights likely
    Thanks

      Also

If you want another option other than the State Park which is a freeking zoo, this private campground just north of town is very nice. Also has a "Cement Pond" you can go swim'n in. A few of the racers hang here and tell stories around the campfire at night.

You say freeking zoo like that is a bad thing? is the state park more than just a pile of drunken boat racers bragging about the size of the rollers they went over?

          Elaborate more

The first year we went to Top'O the wife and I decided to save some $ and get a camp site at the state park there. We had stayed at state parks in the past that were very nice. Don't get me wrong Brower State park is very nice. The problem was we felt like we set up camp in downtown Chicago at rush hour. People flip'n EVERYwere. Kids on bikes yell'n and screaming. Parents not giving a crap what there rug rats were doing. We tried to go to sleep around 11:00 that night and had some jack a** two tents down singing koom bye ah my lord on his guitar to his guests till 1:00 in the morning.( karokee camp ground style). When all finally was quite another guy in the lot next to us snored so loud that half the park was kept awake. Our luck have it the Olsens had to leave early that year and gave us their motel room for the next night.

I was pretty happy with Jellystone campground. Quiet, lots of room, and activities for the kids. But, on the downside, I think I was the only boat racer there.
Hey Tom, any chance it was Gootz on the geetar keeping you awake? Just kidding.
