Saturday morning we cleaned up the lily pads along the shore so we will now have plenty of pit area with grass that slopes perfectly into the water. My wife Christine, sons Justin and Ryan and daughters Abby and Austin were a big help. Rick Wagner Sr and Rick Wagner Jr. were instrumental in underwater hedge trimmer operation. Our new friends from the Rock the Docks race committee were very helpful too. Penny and Ed had a wonderful anniversary carrying fishy smelling plants and also had help from Gwen, John and several others. We actually filled a 10 x 10 dumpster with plant material!
Afterwards Rick Sr, Rick Jr and I gave a demonstration on how to rescue an injured driver in the water via our rescue boat. Approx. 20 fireman and paramedics listened intently and asked many questions. Then we enjoyed a day of free testing on the beautiful lake. Many members of the local media were there also and I will attach the link to one of the stories below.
In my many years of racing, I have never seen a race committee this fired up. We hope many of you come to make their hard work pay off.
