The J-Boats and the trailer are headed to Brockville, Ontario, Canada for a race June 21 and 22. Kelly Shane drove down to pick the trailer up yesterday and will tow it to the race. According to Robin they had about 40 kids interested in driving the boats. They will limit it to less than that. "It is fantastic to know that this project has gone international and the work done here will be appreciated by so many people," said Carol Brown, President of CEDA.

    Great News!

This is awesome! The J Category is APBA's best avenue for promotional endeavors.

Ed I could not agree more this is outstanding! I plan to be in Hampton, Va to lend my support and also get some good footage for HRTV.

The J kids had an awesome time at Brockville I hear!

One of the boats did crash into the rocky shore though... it made the papers... the kid was ok and boat is salvagable I hear.

With this trailer going around to many races and letting kids who have never been in a boat before and likely rarely even seen a race hit the water on a regular basis... I was wondering if someone here has the know how to make a remote kill switch? Something simple that could be plugged into the two prong kill switch cable. The team leader for the rookie driver (at any event where rookies take to the water for that matter) could watch and trigger the kill switch if needed.

How many of you have seen a J beach itself after the first heat or two when a kids comes in super excited? I've seen it three times this year...

I bet something could be made for $100 a unit? Can't be too difficult?

I could have used a remote kill switch 30 some odd years ago. We let a fellow race drivers' 10 year old son take one of my kids J's out for a ride (Merc 60J). He'd watched my kids race, had watched his dad race and we gave him complete instructions, But. . .

. . .he panicked and never let off on the throttle, just started running bigger and bigger circles until he ran wide open up onto shore.
