  • BSOA Equipment Theft

    To the world of racing!

This past weekend in a secured area in Rockford, Il just 5 days from the MRC Rochelle event the BSOA Club truck was vandalized.

Broken passenger window and rear sliding door broken into.

    GONE;
2 merc 15hp patrol motors 2000/2001 vintage, serial numbers to follow - you all have seen these guys at the Nationals and they are not pristeen, but workhorses.
12 Uniden 250 VHF radios, 3 headsets with chargers black in color(exact copies of the MHRA white versions).
    3,000 ft of speaker wire
Inspection height gages - go figure on that one???
    Portable generator
    portable compressor - for bouys
    Video camera

Contacts have been made to our friends at MHRA, Great Lakes Boat Club and BSOA/MRC team members to ask permission to borrow equipment for this weekends coming Rochelle event.

Don't worry this EVENT IS ON!

If any of our team members see anything for sale that might match these items please let Bill Pavlick III or myself no by any means available.

We are a strong team and will suvive this injustice. Just wanted to let our members know to keep an eye out there on the market!!!

Steve go to the link I provided which is your local Craigs List site. Craigs List is a free version of eBay without bidding process, regulations and protection which eBay provides. Its a known outlet all across the country for thieves to sell there stolen goods free of charge. Every time you get a chance go to the boat section and type in merc 15hp see what pops up. Then go to the electronic section and type in uniden radios etc..

You could also check any local pawn shops. The keepers typically by most state law need to keep records of who they got the stuff from...If you see the stuff, don't tell the owner, call the police first and have them direct you. Bring receipts for the goods to show it is yours and the pawn shop owner will give it back to you at his loss.

Start to look at the recycling places too. It sounds like the wire and alum from the height checkers will go there as thats easy money.

                    Flea Markets

Check all the large Flea Markets in a 200 mile radius. I think Noonan found one of his 25XS motors this way.

It sucks that you have to conduct your own investigation and recovery, but it is about the only way. Good luck on recovering the equipment, hope you catch the thieves and take them for a boat ride....

                      Butch: What now?
Marsellus: What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' boys, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a darn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass.
