Ist picture is Lambertville, NJ 1958. 188 entries in nine classes. The white CU and DU in the middle appear to be the boats of Lou and Bob Letwinski of Union Beach, NJ. They should be in Lambertville this weekend with Chip Fuller and Rich palys driving.broccoli

Slides
Dennis had taken these as slides and he loaned some of them to me
and I had color prints made with his permission.
They are real awesome quality considering their age. This all started becasue I have Roger Hoffman's 1956 A Sid Craft Hornet runabout thanks to Craig Bowman (That is another story for later). Then I was able to track down Eddie Wulf's (NY) A utility (runabout). These boats ran one/two at the 1959 SO Nationals in Washington. I wanted a color photo of each to help with the restorations if I ever get to them. Dennis ran the Wulf boat for a season or so.

The pictures are great! The only downside is that it drives home the fact that our sport has shrunk. I started in 1948 and can not believe the drop off in participation. I'm afraid that gas costs will further impact on us. I guess there are just too many different types of toys nowdays also.Last edited by Jack Stotts; 05-30-2008, 05:41 PM.

I believe that boat 98-J is a Sid-Craft "DU" Hornet that was owned & raced by Harrison Boggs. I think he also had a cab-over hydro.
