  • best 25 and 15hps.. help

i might buy a winrace boat from norway and i was wondering what the fastest and best engines are to work with for speed. im talking a stock one not a 15A or 25xs just one that i could buy.

and wat mods can i do to them also?

From what little I know of that type of boat, I would say your best bet would be a Yamaha or a Tohatsu.
I want to say the Tohatsu is the better 25 hp do to a better gear ratio...........?

Hopefully someone else with much more first hand experience with these boats will respond to you question soon.
You might also try asking this same question here www.boatracingfacts.com

    Good luck with your project.

Theres a guy, Damo who posts on BRF. he races a cool V bottom wing boat that exceeds 50mph with a Tohatsu 25, stock lower. Im not familiar with Tohatsu or Yamaha but would bet they are good. Ive gotten 50 + from a fish-lower OMC big block 25 [31.8] but that took alot of trial/error/time.. adapted race prop, lite-ned motor [86lbs] & a good hydro. Would another motor give you that as a bolt up ?? -alot of variables.

Forgot to mention, with a stock motor, lite-en what you can, no battery/starter = less. Look at other models of more hp from the manufacturer, might be the same basic powwerhead, ponies to release w/ some bolt on parts. Id think the most boost will be from the optimal prop. Stock motors tend to be geared towards moving a large load at moderate speed, best use of the torque is where the sweet spot will be found.
