Was Ron Hill A Riding Mechanic ?

I found this old picture of Carl Blackstock blistering through Seattle's Lake Washington Ship Canal from 1933.
He was the National Champ that year.
I can not ID the riding mechanic, kind a looks like Ron Hill to me.
What do you think ?

Ron's really old, but I think that was 11 years or so before he was born...

My brother picked up that picture in a Seattle Antique Shop.

I still say that guy looks like Ron Hill, well at least he has the same sh!t eatin' grin anyway
