Here is a good article with a link at the bottom for passport cards which is cheaper than a pasport and might be cheaper than getting a valid Birth Cert.

Good to see that you don't need a passport to come up and enjoy some Canadian hospitality I know we don't to get down there, but wasn't sure if you did to come up.
