    A True Champion, John Augustine

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Augustine family. Words in this short amount of space can not express what he ment to us and the boat racing world. God Bless you Pop and you will be dearly missed.

My condolences to the Augustine Family

My first memory of racing was at Camden, NC and meeting the Augustines.
Pop gave me my first boat, and Bill Walker brought it to me. A gesture from both I fondly remember, and recount the story.
Pop will be missed, but always present at every race.
Pop was always a blessing to anyone that needed help.
      Rest well sir.

      Dennis

        Godspeed Pop

My deepest condolences to the Augustine family. I remember Pop from my earliest days of racing. I can still remember him winning A Outboard Hydro (250ccH to you young'un's) at Burlington, NC around 1970 0r 1971. The whole family came down to the inspection area to congratulate him AND "Miss Lucille".

He was a very good friend to us, and nobody loved boat racing as much as he. He has been and will be missed.

my deepest sympathy to the augustine clan

to dave and the whole augustine clan,

my deepest sympathy you on the passing of pop. i bought my first c stock hydro from pop in 1971 when i started racing. he was always there to answer questions and to help out whenever asked. and boy did i have them. in resent years i enjoyed visiting with pop and gigi before attending my college football referee meetings that were held very close to where they lived. i will always treasure his stories.

you know that his legacy continues with the augustine clan and they are all there for the racers just like pop was.

as long as we remember him he will never be far from us.

he's at the big test lake right now trying to get his a alky running.

Pop will be missed! When I came back to the sport after returning from Desert Storm, I went to Camden to buy some equipment. I met Pop & he informed me he too spent time in the USMC. I gave him the Marine Corps hat off my head. Rest in peace my friend.

                      Truly Missed.....

Pop will truly be missed down here by all those he touched and left behind.
Our prayers and thoughts to the "Augustine Family".....
My fondest memory of him was from Camden, NC (in the early 1990's) when Ashlei and AJ were playing in the mud puddle's. I was told by someone that the kids shouldn't be running thru the mud (cause they would get sick) but Pop said let'em play. Which is what I did. Both my kids were covered in mud and Pop just sat there watching, smiling and laughing.
That's the way we'll remember him......
                      From your racing family,
Lisa, Alex, Ashlei & AJ Jennings

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Augustine family. From reading all of the posts here Mr. Augustine touched many lives throughout the boat racing community and will be forever remembered. He can certainly be proud of the first family of boat racing..........they don't come any better.
                          Rest in peace, Pop.
