    Happy Birthday, Fred!

Do you remember Grand Rapids, Ohio back in the day?
Riding kids bikes with life jackets tied to them off the boat ramp with Gary Mesic?
Now, you old guys were funny!!!!
Have a great day, we miss ya!

      Happy B-Day Fred

Fred Miller, what can you say about this man?

Take a look at Rusty Rae's "Speed and Spray". Any body that can pull off the style of the decade with a 1.5 inch wide white belt, pin stripped bellbottom pants and shoes to match, he's the DUDE!

The most important announcement at 7am at the spring Dayton races as Ed Hearn mentionned above, "This is God speaking and all the B drivers wake your buddies up, driver meeting at 7:30". He was no dummy, all the B drivers were the last guys to bed, if he could get these guys moving he got the pits moving. I know, dahh, B driver here!

Trip to Merc Challenge Whitney Point, Fred in the co pilot seat decides to tell me the history of APBA, well, we missed the turn off in Cleveland and the next thang we're in Youngstown. So he goes back in the motorhome to sleep and me an Mary take it back on course to Furnal's place.

Hinton 1997, how much time does it take to set up a 25 runnabout. For Fred, all week!!!!!!. Then he decides to take 2 test runs under the bridge. Well this did not set to well with the Hinton DNR. So we had to cover the boat to hide the boat numbers. Guess who's trailer he pitted next to???? 64W Maybe!

But the all time quote came frome the 1986 Ocoee Merc Challenge after Brian Rhodes, the Schaub's boys and other's (me included)were sling shooting water ballons from the 5th floor about an 1/8 of mile.

Anyways back in the the room the BS was flying pretty high when Andy Hansen belts out, "Miller, if you couldn't talk, you'd be useless".

As a person, driver, friend, and a compassionate APBA member, your are very well respected.

Hope you had a Great Day!

      See ya in Detroit!!!

Speed and Spray by Rusty Rae...

Copied this, hope Rusty doesn't mind...The book was going to be called Seven Days in Dayton...

As I recall this MEETING, MILLER was explaining to the B DRIVERS to be sure and look at the flags and not just straight ahead!!!!! And that included Vic Brinkman!!!! Was Miller wear HOLLYWEIRD clothes or what???

George Stillwell, Sr. to the left...
