    good quality

I like HJC .. go to your local shop and try them on till you get a good snug fit.. Then find a new one in Ebay stores and save a ton of $$.. They ( HJC )are Snell rated and you can find Yello and orange.

I personally like Sheoi. They are more expensive, but are of higher quality. They just feel safer than the cheaper helmets. The Shoei's also come in Orange. So when I see you this season, I hope I see you in a Shoei with ur cowboy hat glued on top of it.

the SHOEI TZ-R is the most comfortable helmet I have ever had. I have had HJC and Bell helmets and definately prefer the SHOEI. You can buy it from SRP.........

            I'm a Shoei guy . . .

Had a Shoei 3/4 that died a grindy asphalt death in a motorcycle mishap. Saved my tiny brain. Now I wear a Shoei full-face on the scoot. A rare sight indeed, a Harley with a rider wearing a full-face.

Might try on a few different brands of quality helmets. Heads come in different shapes, so do helmets. You want one that fits snug and feels right.

Any well rated helmet is fine. In this case fit is most important. If it does not leave a mark on your face it is not tight enough. It should fit snug to your head. You only wear it for 3-5 min so as long as the blood is flowing you are ok. It should be an extention of your head. I like the M2R street full face helmets.

Brian, Don't forget this is Gootz we are talking to. Marathoners wear their helmets for an hour at a time.

As for me... I am really happy with my Arai. It has a nice ventilation system. My only regret is that I wish I'd bought a nice bag for it. Hey Gootz, remember the pampers box I use? Real professional.

                        Rick-
                        Right out of the rulebook...

Considering the fact that there is no safest life jacket and helmet that will eliminate all risks, the participants are solely and ultimately responsible for
selecting a suitable helmet and life jacket. Only those considered in good condition may be used.
                        A. Helmets must meet the specifi cations set forth by any of the following: Department of Transportation, American National Standards Institute,
Inc., Snell, or military specifi cation helmet designed for military aircraft — Mil-Spec helmets (CGF LA100, LH050, LH150, LH250; Gentex
HGU84P) and Peltor helmets (Rally Pro Helmet EN ECU 04 or 05) are acceptable.
                        1) For a participant who is restrained in the cockpit, it is recommended that a majority of the helmet be painted with a fl uorescent red, yellow or
orange; or international orange. There is no specifi ed area, but the helmets must be of a bright color so as to be clearly visible in the water.
                        2) For a participant who races unrestrained in an open cockpit, the upper fi fty percent (50%) of the helmet must be fl uorescent red, yellow or
                        orange; or International Orange
                        DAVEY 18w
