      Hey Rob,

I talked to Dean about the course for the 45's, He's going to talk with Gean about it tonight. It shouldn't be a problem.

        That would be great.
Don't want to get too involved in their class but after last year it's a very long coarse for the 45's. I should have packed a lunch

Gene and crew will work with us on the courses to make it work for everyone.

Here is the deal on the courses.
They will have one for inboards and Hydros which will be a 1 mile surveyed. They will also have another shorter course for J's.

OPC: They plan to set an OPC course out and a have a shorter version for the 45/ 60's. the OPC course will not be surveyed. The plan is to keep the OPC course as separate from the inboard course as possible so people do not get confused a go around the wrong pins.

Just to keep things in perspective the course that we ran on last year was a surveyed 3/4 mile OPC record course. Probably most of the courses that you run in APR for 60 or 45 are about 1/2 to 5/8 of a mile if you surveyed the actual length. The surveyed 3/4 mile cousre seemed to be alot longer than I expected as well.

          Thanks!
          Bruce

            Lakeland course

            Bruce,

Are the 120's and Mod U running the same course as last year. I hope so and I really think the spectators enjoyed it also.

Last years couse was surveyed this year's is not. They are going to try and set the courses up so that everyone gets what they need and we can put the best show on but I do not know if it will be the same.

I thought the course last year was pretty cool too.

More than 6 laps, more than 6 laps, more than 6 laps, more than 6 laps,……….no seriously, I already committed to this race, plus it’s our home race so we’ll show up, but if it was any other race I wouldn’t waste my time….I mean think about it, most of our races in R5 are 22-24 second courses so 6 laps is 2.5-3 minute races, …..it takes longer to strap in the boat or to put on the helmet and jacket…..i just cant justify time and $$$$ for 2-3 minutes in the boat…we got to work on this issue.

                            Brian,
I won't be stepping up for mod U. Sorry, have to watch the money. At $150 per class I'm just sticking with the 120's

Will there be any 25ssh's at Lakeland or just the classes Doug mentioned at the beginning of the thread? We will be there with my son's 45sst and I could bring my 25ssh.
