  • 7 New Pavlick Race Boats for 2008!

After a good 2007, we decided to build some new boats for 2008. Hopefully, the picture below works...

Before anyone asks: yes, the pickle forks are rounded and the cockpit sides are 3" thick (if scaled)....we may have problems finding hardware for this many boats

That is so cool, it reminds me of long ago days at the Depue Nationals (circa 1969) when we were kids, they made some plastic Inboard replicas, each about a foot long. A bunch of us racers' kids would tie strings to the fronts, set up some makeshift bouys and run/race them across the sand at the Depue playgrounds. I can't remember all who played with us then, with the exceptions of Gary and Eric Pugh.

          Pavlick vs Bennett Built Boats

To funny.........Dave made the kids boats just like those about 10 years ago. Justin has one that he beat to death but it is still around!! Those kids will remember those toys forever!!

          Have a good one!

Looks like the kids are ready to start a Pushboat race like at Lake Lawrence

                Mike
I looked in to it and Keller don't make hardware that small.

Looks like fun. I looked all over under the tree this year for a new Pavlick boat and all I got was a coffee pot. Maybe next year.........

It's a Spruce Xmas tree, and it's huge! I think that means I have some good quality wood for a new boat.........

                        Cool Boats

Those kids should have many days of fun! I remember when I was too young to race, I build a model similiar, put a small eye screw in the left sponson and tied my fishing pole line to it. Stood out in the water and it would go swinging the pole over my head- got a little dizzy at times watching it.... lots of fun!!

                          Spruce Christmas Tree!

Spruce?.....Jimi, did you say spruce???....Santa needs to find some more elves to be able to build more boats

The kids are having a blast with the boats. I can't wait until they can push them around at a race this summer. My 3 year old now knows what a blowover is.

I was chuckling every night I went into the garage to build the boats. I kept telling the kids I was "cleaning the garage to get a car inside"....they should know by now that we put boats in garages NOT cars!

Thanks to Mike Mackey (future 20ssH or CSH driver) for making the stickers for the boat.

                          Happy New Year!
                          -Mike

                              Plans

If Santa didn't bring you a new pushboat or if you didn't get one of those really nice Pavlick factory rides, here's some plans so that you can build your own!
It is the latest design. I drew it up in SolidWorks and saved it as a pdf.
I've also got plans for another, smaller one for the younger hydrohead, but I have to convert it from a tif format first.
                              Enjoy,
