Mr.Pavlick can you provide us with any particulars on the new race site? Also THANK YOU again for all of your hard work. It's amazing sometimes you even find time to race with all of the tasks you are preforming on a given weekend.

    Merry Christmas,

          Candlewick Lake, IL

is a privately owned lake located just north east of Rockford, IL. It is a gated community that puts on activities during the year for it's residents and in '08 they want us to be one of the events. it is less than 10 minutes due north of Belvidere which has restaurants and hotels. Belvidere is right on I-90.
The lake was man-made in the 40's or 50's and is well protected by a tall earth berm at the south end of the lake where turn one will be and by a ton of trees around the rest of the lake.

We will be pitting next to a very nice club house with bathrooms, swiming pool, tennis courts etc. Access on to the race course is tucked a little off the front stretch in a small bay that should help keep the getting on plane rollers off the course. Judge's stand will be located on the point in front of the club house. There is room behind the judge's stand for concessions and spectators.

We have some options as to course size, it could be to the size of Rochelle/Constantine.

The association is excited about having us and we are working with them on prize and tow $. At this point we expect to do pretty well on the tow money and should do ok on prize money as well.

Take a look at the site on Yahoo maps. use satellite or hybrid.

Thanks for the compliment but I can't take much credit on this one. Chicago Paul, Tad Olson and Bill Carter have worked on this too.
