  • Who are we?

Going along the lines of the "extreme closups", 'old racers who'd kick your butt' and 'passing the time during winter months' themes. I thought I'd add a picture of some high point winners from 1970 (I believe). Can't give you any more clues than that right now.

    Can anyone get all three?

Score 2 for Captain American and 1 for Junior. I guess it was too easy.

Maybe because ties are conservative and the Wild One's weren't!?!

As a kid i remember 'nobody' had cleaner looking equipment than Max. I guess France may have been in the ballpark?? Maybe.

Max left a race once because the pits were to muddy and his trailer was covered with mud.

                    Max

I remember Max towing his one boat trailer with his 79 Vette. I remember him getting mad and leaving Columbiaville once because he was disqualified for jumping the gun. Vic would always tell Max stories from the old days, I drill in Grand Ledge and could never remember the street he lived on, the very last hair cut I had a month or so ago, the old guy whose kids run the barber shop now cut my hair, I do not remember how the conversation went but I mentioned Max, he had went to school with Max, he had some interesting Max storries. Come to find out Max still lives in the same house and his back yard was right across the street from the barber shop. He always had nice stuff, and it ran well. Vic and Max I knew right away but uncle Harve I would not of recognized but figured thats who it was.
