      Fairbanks Mag

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ron, did you happen to notice a huge manufacturing facility along the river toward the second turn when you won at Beloit? That was a small Wisconsin based manufacturer by the name of Fairbanks Morse...

When I went to Beloit for the 1960 Nationals, I think the plant was up and working...Not sure when they closed the plant...I think it was closed by 1970

My father-in-law worked at that plant, and owned a bar on the side. The bar was doing pretty well, so he sold it and moved to C+Janesville, and bought Club 67....Owned that place for many years...Then, he and his borther opend La Pods...

Anyway, anytime he and I went by the Fairbanks plant he'd tell me a story about working there!!!

ADD: Thw Butterfly Resaurant (In Beloit)..was open in 1960 and is still serving fine steaks today!!!
