happy birthday Dave, glad to see old people still racing..........
so here's a Dave story for you all............
A few years back now we (region 10) are having a race north of the boarder
(western British Columbia) this being a new site for us. well.....
so Friday was testing kinda, and the race chairman goes out and dumps in the ridged glacier fed water.
we get him back to the pits and Dave is kind enough to help dry out the motor (D mod I think) any way Dave ropes it over, it kicks and breaks his arm.
so off to the hospital goes Dave for X-rays and a cast. not a good Friday.
Saturday rolls around and I'm lucky enough to drive Dave's DSH, great ride,even though the weather really sucked all day, so off to the bar most of go after the awards. Must have been around 11p.m. that evening after many cognac's and very weird pink shots of something, these guys come into the bar selling a ac/dc TV set ,VCR, some clothing and other misc stuff. needless to say we all passed on the items even though the TV did look familiar.
Turns out that these "friends of the north" got into Dave's van and took what they wanted, brought it in to the bar to sell. the odd part about this is that I know Dave was in the with us in the bar that night, maybe he was the one in the disco booth spinning the tunes.
any way happy birthday Dave, hope a few others have a story or two to pass along (like Lk. Lawrence '97)
