To My Friends,

It has been a year since my racing accident in Lock Haven, PA.

Immediately after the accident a letter was posted on Hydroracer.net describing my difficult insurance situation and listing an address for donations.

I cannot begin to describe the relief my family and I instantly felt as boat racers from all across the country stepped up and the checks started coming in.

As I spent time reading all the cards I noticed some from my closest friends, some from competitors and some from people I had never met. There were also the countless phone calls and visitors that made the time go by and helped me keep a positive attitude.

This overwhelming display of generosity helped us through a very trying time.

My surgery and recovery went well and I have returned to work. Although I am not back in the boat yet, we still made it to most of the races to pit for Team Scott and to show off my pride and joy, my new baby daughter.

So THANK YOU to Hydroracer.net and to everybody who called, donated, sent a card, came by or had me in their thoughts. My family and I will never forget how my boat racing friends stepped up when the chips were down.
