  • Update From Korea

Hi all! Just wanted to drop a line and let every one know I'm still alive. Its getting hot and rains all the time now. Work is good. We have a large group of military Police leaving for the sand box at the end of this month but thank god I'm not in that group. As of now I will be home by x-mass. I ordered one of thoes Vontage phones so in about a month I'll have a room phone with a 508 area code. When I get it up and going I'll put the # out for all. My peanut is doing great ( most of you have seen her more than i have), she is now a NJ residence and loves to be with her grams, gramps and aunt Cali. Shes so happy. I love and miss you all. Hope to hear from you all soon!

    My Wife Remembered...

    My Wife Remembered...

Kevin helped me setup my CSH on Sunday at Millville and as we're sitting on the ground my wife walked by. I introduced the two and then said, "although you've never met she knows who you are".

"Kevin is the racer whose wife is serving in Korea and..." then before I could finish my sentence my wife recognized who I was talking about from my stories.

Eventually your peanut appeared, wrapped in her babysitter's arms, and Kevin introduced the two of them.

This was the first time my wife and youngest son, age 9, have watched me race. Having them there was special. And welcoming spouses and children at races is one thing that makes boat racing special too.

      Darshan,

I hope you have as much fun in Korea as I did playing army about 35 years ago. I was there for about 5 1/2 months at Camp Stanley and had plenty of boat racing pics taped up on my locker. It was a great benefit being E-6 then but I'm assuming that you've probably got better conditions now. I'm sure you're not enjoying it so much now but will be able to look back and say, hey that wasn't so bad. Well maybe camping out in winter for a week at the DMZ was lousy but there were good moments. We haven't seen you so much the last few years but still remember you and Artie playing with Bill out at Bakersfield 10 years ago. Do they still make OSCAR chanpagne in Korea? Great stuff, $1.50 a bottle, tastes like grape soda! Well hope you make it and enjoy a great homecoming.

        Thanks

        Darshan

I wanted to say "Thank You" for your service. My husband is currently stationed at an FOB in Afghanistan and will not be home until the end of the year. I know we all here on hydroracer appreciate the sacrifice you and your family are making to keep us all playing!! As I type this the blackhawks from Fort Bragg are flying over my house and reminding me how proud I am of all of you that serve.

        Stay Safe and God Bless.

          Hey Darshan,

Thanks for doing what most of us take for granted, keeping the USA safe. I can not imagine how hard it must be being away from your baby. As with most in the armed forces the sacrafices are very high, thanks again!!

Hope you make it back by X mas.

              Hi in Korea !!!!

Hi Darshan, Your Dad was doing a fine job of baby-sitting between heats at Millville. My very best to you. Take care and be well for that baby when you get home.

                  Babysitting Kevin and Faith

I know it's hard being away and you miss your family, but on the upside, we're all getting a chance to spend some time getting to know Faith. I took a turn rocking her at Wilson, NC trying to get her to go to sleep but she's obviously got a little bit too much of her mom's blood in her and wouldn't quit jabbering and go to sleep until long past her bed time. She also hung out with me for a while in Millville and she got to meet Kelsey (Tammy and Jeff's baby) and Jackson (Rachel and Matt's baby). Then I fed her some of A.J. Jennings' birthday cake, got her sugared up real good and gave her back to her Dad! Just kidding mom, I only gave her a couple of small bites. Don't worry, we'll keep an eye on them until you get back.

But while we're babysitting Kevin and Faith, who's babysitting you!
