Hey now, I'm a thorough geek and an old guy too! LOL! I've even gone back to school to work on some more certs in the networking field (working on my Cisco certifications) and taking an advanced networking program for network security. All the desktop/server/administration stuff was ok for the last 10 years, but it's time for something new :-)
Trust me, the Apple crowd has their share of issues just the like Windows users do. Actually, a MAC computer today is nothing more than a PC, the same as a Windows user has, they just run a different operating system. Back in the day, MACs were different, they used to have a completely different type of hardware...Motorola based CPUs, etc...now they're just Intel based PCs like everyone else has...that, and they charge 2 times the price for that MAC because it's "Apple".
There's nothing a MAC can do that you can't do on a Windows PC for less money.
