  • greeting card from past

    Greetings everyone.

As usual during the off season I look through cards, props and pictures from the past. I found this Greeting card from one of the region 1 clubs.

My question to the Senior Division of the region is to help me figure out the driver. I am thinking the time frame will be late seventies to the eighties.
I say this because it appears to be when we thought T shirts were enough flak and impact resistance.

    Now, names of possible drivers.
Skip Birbarie or his Dad, Paul
    Chris Shurilla
or that old geezer, Mike Schmidt. Wait, he doesn't become an old geezer until next month.

Brad Snow and John Yale also came to mind.

    Happy Holidays

    Pete

    Yankee Outboard Xmas Card

    Pete,

I have one just like it except the picture is of boat 2-D. Seems like I remember that they sent them out in 1978 - 1979. I believe the one I have is from 1978.
Don't know the drivers anymore but they were all members of Yankee Outboard.

By the way Pete, stay warm up there and I wish you and Mike the best of holidays. Maybe you can get out of there in the spring (April) and come down to Jesup, Ga. For the Winter Nationals. If so we can have a few beers.
    Take care my friend.

      Let me think....

This was Bill Giles personal Super "C" boat. I picked it up at Thompson in 1977. Ray Deangelo did a great paint job on it that winter. I think this shot was testing at East Hartford. Won a bunch of races with it. Bought one of Skip's Yales at Alex in 1979. Sold it to Jim Bates who ran 250 for a couple of years with it.
