By now I'm sure most of the racing community and extended racing family have heard of Dan's passing this last Sunday doing what he loved most at a race at Salt Springs, CA. Jean has a lot to deal with over the next few days, and I know she would love to speak with everyone, however we need to give her some space to get done what needs to get done. I don't post much here, do more on FB. I will try to keep the racing community informed as things develop over the next days. If you want to talk, PM me on FB and I'll send you my cell #. Thank you all for your kind messages, prayers, and thoughts. Bill

Dan
I am just beside myself right now....Dan was doing so well (at nationals) and was sharp as a tack. This is just so unfair....but in retrospect we are lucky that we had Dan around for the last few years after accident. I will miss Dan so much....and I am grieving for Jean and the rest of his family. Rest in peace Dan....rest in peace.

So sorry to hear this news. I've known Dan for forty years and always looked forward to seeing him at the nationals and national meetings. He was a one of the good ones. A good friend, great boat racer & I'm sure a wonderful husband for Jean.
Hang in there, Jean. We grieve with you. Our prayers are with you & Dan.
Race in peace, Dan. You will be missed.John Runne

Hard for me to see this. I knew Dan for many years. Used to help him roll out the cable for the scan guns for the Kilos when they used to be held at Modesto Res always a good time whenever we seen each other. A great racer, person and most of all good friend.
My condolences to Jean and family!!!
RIP My friend
