anyone remember this race site?

hi all,

it's a slow saturday night and i've been surfing ebay for those great deals. i found a postcard of outboard races on lake hiawassee, nc. from the picture i can't tell how old the outboards are. does anyone remember racing there and when? i'm buying the card and will try to scan it and post it when it arrives.

That area is Near Murphy and Franklin, NC.....West of Asheville.....Both Post offices I serviced delivery vehicles from in Asheville,.NC.......Amazing mountain area with Lake Lure, Sliding rock and Bridal Falls nearby!......Sounds like a roadtrip to check out that site.

From Google maps, it is in state park or Cherokee reservation area with Blue Ridge Mountains nearby so it might not be gobble'd up with high end homes/cottages and be accessable.
